About Cranberry-apricot juice drink, bottled

This bottled cranberry-apricot drink pairs tart cranberry with the mellow sweetness of apricot. Like most cranberry beverages it is a juice *drink* rather than pure juice — cranberry is far too sharp to drink undiluted — so it is sweetened to make it palatable.

It is one of the higher-calorie juice drinks at about 64 calories per 100 grams, with roughly 16 grams of carbohydrate, nearly all of it sugar. Unlike many similar drinks it is not fortified with vitamin C, so it offers little beyond fluid and the natural compounds from the fruit, with only a trace of sodium and a little potassium.

It makes a refreshing change of flavor, but with that much added sugar and no real nutritional fortification it is best treated as an occasional indulgence rather than a daily juice. Diluting it with sparkling water is a good way to enjoy the taste with less sugar.
