About Carbonated beverage, low calorie, cola or pepper-types, with sodium saccharin, contains caffeine

This is a diet cola sweetened with sodium saccharin — the original artificial sweetener, the one behind the pink Sweet'N Low packets. It delivers the familiar cola flavor and caffeine without the sugar, using saccharin rather than the aspartame found in most modern diet colas.

Like other diet sodas it is essentially calorie-free, with no sugar and only a trace of carbohydrate. It carries caffeine — about 11 milligrams per 100 grams, which works out to roughly 39 milligrams in a 12-ounce can, less than a cup of coffee — along with a small amount of sodium. Saccharin is one of the most studied sweeteners and is considered safe at normal intakes by food-safety authorities.

As a no-sugar swap for regular cola it spares you the calories and the spike in blood sugar, which is its main appeal. It still offers no real nutrition, though, so it is best thought of as an occasional treat rather than a way to hydrate — plain water remains the better everyday choice.
