About Sports drink, fruit-flavored, low calorie, ready-to-drink
This is a low-calorie, ready-to-drink sports drink — the lighter cousin of full-sugar Gatorade or Powerade, formulated to replace fluids and electrolytes during exercise without the calorie load. It is flavored and only lightly sweetened, mostly with low-calorie sweeteners.
At about 11 calories per 100 grams it is very light; a 20-ounce bottle comes to only around 65 calories, with little or no sugar. Its real purpose is the sodium and potassium it supplies, which help with hydration and replacing what is lost in sweat during longer or harder workouts.
For everyday activity and ordinary thirst, plain water does the job and a drink like this is unnecessary. Its value shows up during prolonged, sweaty exercise — and the low-calorie formula lets you get the electrolytes without the sugar of the original sports drinks.
